Developing the Content Migration Process and Tools for Website Redesign
Existing website content was seamlessly captured and mapped to new website IA and page templates.
A well-known national chain of healthcare treatment centers retained our digital agency to redesign their large (over 4,000 pages) and complex website. My role was to develop a process for capturing the existing website content and mapping it to the new website’s IA and page templates.
Working with the new sitemap, wireframes and visual comps, I developed a streamlined, intuitive system that client team members used to capture content, identify gaps, create missing content, and then manually populate the content in the new CMS.
The system included spreadsheets with instructions and placeholder text, and wireframe visuals for context. These tools streamlined what would would have been a very labor-intensive and times-consuming content migration. The client was thrilled with these efficiencies.
